Leadership Development
Prof. Dawie P.J. Smith is the Managing Director of The EPL Way, a People Development Consulting Firm based in Johannesburg.
He is also a Contract Professor of
Personal, Interpersonal and Professional Leadership
Development (PiPL) post-graduate degrees in the Department
of Industrial Psychology and People Management at the
University of Johannesburg.
Dawie Smith introduced “Inside-out-Leadership” in South
Africa and is a recognised Leadership, Management, Practical
Supervision, Wellbeing Developer, Life Coach and a
Train-the-Trainer specialist.
He is a full Professor and founder (developer) of the Post
Graduate Degrees in Personal, Interpersonal and Professional
Leadership (PiPL) in the Department of Industrial Psychology
and People Management, Faculty of Management, University of
Johannesburg. Dawie Smith is a popular motivational
speaker at conferences. He also regularly has radio talks on
topic such as “The Life Laws for Positive Thinking”.

Helen Playdon
openaxyz Designer
Helen Playdon Gresham has a master’s degree in business from Henley Business School UK. Her area of expertise is on general business strategy and planning.
She also has a marketing qualification and 13 years of experience in this field. Helen is a qualified and registered pharmacist and has headed up businesses in the pharmaceutical, cosmetic, chemical industries and helath care industries.
She served on the board of a prominent South African chemical company, heading up one of their group companies for 8 years. The Care Co. was formed in 2006 and has completed projects in a variety of industries in South Africa and the USA.
Danie Maritz
Collaboration & Innovation Strategist
Dr. Danie Maritz is a recognized collaboration, leadership and business transformation strategist. Leveraging strategy, leadership and collaborative technologies to drive innovation is his passion.
He has directed major business transformation projects with blue chip companies in manufacturing, mining, retail and food and beverage industries.
Working with large groups, he specialises in real-time strategy innovation and execution. He is an Associate Director, Human Capital at Deloitte.
Anton de Wet
Technology Architect
Anton is our openaxyz 'general purpose guru' and technology partner. His work is the expression of the love and passion he has to grow people so they can fulfill their potential. "Together we help people improve whatever they do with neat technical tools, enriching their lives and experience along with ours".
The founder of Telamenta and Obsidian, he is passionate about solving tricky programming problems that help people improve whatever they do with neat technical tools, enriching their lives and experience. Anton is a leader in the global Drupal community, and excels at being able to motivate and inspire diverse, talented and creative software developers and designers towards innovative new methods and toolsets.
Qualifications: M. Ing. (Cum Laude); NLP Master Practitioner; RHCE.

Suegnét is an openaxyz associate consultant who has been trained in the facilitation and application of openaxyz. In addition to her experience in strategic planning and organizational development, she supports the implementation of strategic projects through planning, directing and coordinating multi-disciplinary activities to ensure that the client’s strategic objectives are accomplished.
Suegnét has extensive experience in driving strategic projects including client relationship management and liaison, project management, stakeholder communication and engagement, co-ordination as well as training and coaching. Her industry experience includes financial services (banking, short term and life insurance, micro lending), manufacturing (abattoirs, coatings, sugar), health and wellness, telecommunications and public sector (municipal).
Suegnét holds an Executive MBA from UCT and works comfortably with all levels within an organization, from director and executive level to operational staff level. Key focus areas:

Carl Spies
Certified openaxyz Designer
Carl Spies is a Social Business Technologist, Intrapreneur, Cognitive-Edge Practitioner, CTO @Genotribe, Agile Systems Thinker, ScrumMaster, Neuro-semantics Trainer, Drupalista.
Working with open source, social technologies, he seeks to help leading brands extract real value from social media trends and systems to engage customers beyond the corporate firewall, and mine social capital behind it.
Carl is recognised as an accomplished provocative facilitator and trainer having advised many organisations in South and West Africa, coordinated top-level community events and addressed national and international groups on a wide range of critical business topics.
He has worked with clients ranging from Standard Bank, Vodacom and South African Breweries to eBucks, Microsoft and Samsung.
